How to get to

Eawag

The Centre of Ecology, Evolution and Biogeochemistry is in Kastanienbaum near Lucerne. We are situated on the shore of Lake Lucerne. Eawag at Kastanienbaum also houses the Swiss Fisheries Advisory Office (FIBER), and provides a training and meeting centre for courses, seminars and workshops.

Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the University of Bern

At the Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the University of Bern the research on the meaning and function of animals either in their population or as a part of the ecosystem is done. Based on a theoretical approach, the research makes contributions to applied as well as to basic research.

The Institute consists of six divisions. In Aquatic Ecology, Behavioural Ecology, Conservation Biology, Community Ecology, Evolutionary Ecology, and Population Genetics, we follow up specific problems in our laboratory and outdoor experiments and make use of modern molecular methods as well as computer-aided.
